In addition to those skills it will reinforce skills such as: vocabulary and language development, letter and number recognition, counting, estimating, and measuring, simple fractions, graphing, making predictions and observations.
We will begin each class by reading a book which will introduce the food item we will be preparing that day. The food item prepared that day is not a substitute for the student’s lunch. The story will provide an opportunity to recognize letters (there will usually be a letter of the day associated with the story and cooking project), to make predictions, and to learn new vocabulary words. The cooking project will introduce students to safe food preparation, measurements, fractions and concepts such as boiling/freezing, liquid/solid, etc… In addition students will create a cookbook which will reinforce recognition of numbers, letters, and words.

Take an adventure with Sven, a child Viking, as he has journeys through the alphabet. We will begin each class by reading a book which will introduce the letter we will be learning about that day. The story will provide an opportunity to recognize letters and to learn new vocabulary and sight words. Students will bring home a book showing Sven’s adventure with each letter. This book can be used repeatedly at home to reinforce letter recognition, letter sounds, vocabulary words and sight words. The students will also practice writing the letter of the week and playing games that strengthen their knowledge of the skills used to become strong readers.
This enrichment class will bring yoga to life in fun and creative way designed to stimulate a young child’s growing motor development. Playful yoga poses, animated breathing exercises and imaginative relaxation techniques, teach 3-6 year olds about their growing bodies. Sprinkled with music, stories and adventures; these classes will spark the child’s inner “yogi” while enhancing language development, motor coordination and play skills.
We will begin each class by reading a story that will introduce the adventure of the day. The class will be able to retell the story in yoga poses. The yoga poses will introduce students to balance exercises, stretching exercises and breathing exercises.
This enrichment class will explore the wonders of art and music from sight to sound. We will be reinforcing skills such as: color recognition, eye/hand coordination, letter recognition, music and art vocabulary and language development, and proper uses of equipment.
We will begin each class by reading a book related to our art or music theme of the day. The art class will expand on techniques, mediums and end results by each student. The music class will introduce new songs, the use of real instruments, and an introduction to their uses and sounds they make. We will design our own instruments related to the real instruments we have explored.
